Data Deletion
In accordance with our Privacy Policy and Google Play Store regulations, you have the right to request the deletion of your Pintos account and all associated personal data. You may also request to delete only specific portions of your data while keeping your account active.
As we are currently working on an automated in-app deletion feature, please follow the steps below to submit your deletion request.
How to Request Data Deletion
To request the deletion of your account and personal data, or to specify certain data to be deleted, please send an email to our support team:
- Send an email to: support@pintos.app
- Subject Line: "Data Deletion Request"
- Authentication: Please send the email from the email address associated with your Pintos account so we can verify your identity. If you signed in using Apple or Google, use the email associated with that service.
- Body: Briefly state whether you would like your entire account and all associated data deleted, or clearly specify which exact pieces of data you want deleted (e.g., "Delete all my saved recipes," or "Delete my dietary preferences").
We will process your request and confirm the deletion of your data within 30 days.
Data That Will Be Deleted
Upon verifying your request, we will permanently delete the following data associated with your account from our servers (Google Cloud/Firestore):
- Account Information: Your email address and authentication credentials.
- User Preferences: All user preferences collected through initial user onboarding, app settings and future user preference updates.
- User-Generated Content: All your created or saved recipes, grocery lists, meal plans, and customized supermarket layouts.
Data That May Be Retained
Some information may be retained for specific, limited purposes as required by law or for legitimate business operations:
- Financial Records: If you purchased a Pintos Pro subscription, transaction records handled by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store) are retained by those entities and managed via RevenueCat for accounting and tax compliance purposes. We do not hold your raw credit card data.
- Anonymized Analytics & Diagnostics: Aggregated, anonymized usage data (via PostHog) and crash reports (via Sentry) that cannot be linked back to you may be retained to help us improve the app and fix bugs.
- Uploaded Photos: Any temporary photos uploaded strictly for AI recipe processing are automatically deleted from our servers after 7 days, regardless of an account deletion request.
